Kenya’s Safari Scene Shines: Marriott to Launch Two Luxury Camps Amidst Tourism Boom

Kenya’s tourism sector is experiencing a significant surge, with the government aiming to attract 10 million domestic tourists and 3 million international visitors in 2025. This ambitious goal follows a notable increase in local travel, with 5 million domestic tourists recorded in 2024—a substantial rise from previous years.

In response to the growing demand for high-end travel experiences, Marriott International is set to launch two luxury safari camps in Kenya under its Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott brands. The Ritz-Carlton Masai Mara, opening in August near Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, will offer premium suites starting at $2,646 per night. JW Marriott’s additional lodge is slated to open in 2026 at Solio Game Reserve, providing diverse wildlife tour options and luxury accommodations.

These developments underscore Kenya’s commitment to revitalizing its tourism sector and positioning itself as a premier global travel destination. With enhanced infrastructure and a focus on both international and local travel, Kenya offers an accessible and enriching experience for all who venture to explore its wonders.
